During the refactoring to deprecate the old domain/subdomain style of topology (PETALSDISTRIB-176), it was made visible that the registry and its data model was dependent upon the notion of domain and subdomain.
In particular to name the topologies stored in the registry, a specific choice was made to name them "domain-subdomain" and this choice is enforced at the registry cli level in the delete-topology command options.

We should remove this and only rely on the concept of topology to stay independent from the changes in the style of topology.
